Hash Generator
Hash text as UTF-8 with SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-384 and SHA-512. Each result is shown in hex and Base64.
Free forever.
Hashed as UTF-8. SHA-1 is listed because older APIs still ask for it. Do not use these as password hashes.
How to hash text
- Paste the text. An empty box hashes the empty string.
- Hash it. The four SHA results appear together.
- Copy the hex or Base64 form. The text is encoded as UTF-8 before hashing.
Questions
Can I use this for a password?
No. These are fast checksums. A password needs a slow hash such as scrypt, bcrypt or Argon2, plus a salt, which belongs in the system that stores the password.
Why is SHA-1 included?
Some older APIs still ask for it. It is not a safe choice for signatures or password storage.
