How to edit a photo
- Drop a photo, including HEIC or TIFF, or start from a blank canvas.
- Use Adjust or a filter for the colour. Cut removes a plain background, or cuts the photo with a shape or the brush. Crop, text, drawing and retouch are separate tools.
- Download as JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF or SVG. WebP and AVIF appear when this browser can save them. Hold Compare to check the colour against the original.
Questions
Is this photo editor as complete as Photoshop?
It covers the work most photos need: exposure and colour, filters, crop and rotate, removing a plain background, shape and brush cutouts, layers with blend modes, text, shapes, brushes, and retouching that softens, hides, lightens or darkens. It does not include Photoshop features such as raw development or smart objects. Background Remover is the separate beta tool for cutting a subject out of a busier photo.
Which photo formats can I open?
You can open JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, BMP, SVG, HEIC and TIFF. You can download JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF or SVG, plus WebP and AVIF when this browser can save them. Decoding and encoding happen in your browser.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. The editor draws everything in your browser. eTools does not receive the image.
Why was a large photo made smaller when I opened it?
Photos longer than 4,096 pixels on the long side are scaled down so brushes, filters and undo stay responsive. The exported file uses that working size.
Your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
