How to remove a background
- Drop a JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG, HEIC or TIFF photo. The first cutout downloads a 44 MB model. The picture stays on your device.
- Compare the original and the cutout. Choose a clear background, or place the subject on white, black or a colour.
- Download the PNG. A clear background keeps the transparent edge. A colour is flattened into the file.
Questions
Why is this marked beta?
The cutout finds a subject instead of only erasing a flat colour, and it still misses some edges. Fine hair, glass, smoke and a subject that fills the frame can look rough.
Is the photo uploaded?
No. The cutout is made in your browser. The first run downloads the model. eTools does not receive the image.
Why is the download a PNG?
PNG keeps a clear edge. If you choose a background colour, that colour is painted behind the subject in the PNG.
Your files stay on your device. Nothing is uploaded.
